Maddie's Moments in Renewal

The conclusion of 2023, as with any other year, prompts reflection upon many moments in the last twelve months. For me, the end of my volleyball career in November provided me the time and motivation to reflect back on my life. Considering my relationships with others, the value I place in each of my commitments, and my attitude towards myself, I think about everything 2023 has brought me. From traveling near and far for club volleyball, sunsets, concerts, book stores, college tours, quality time with friends, camping, attending the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment, a trip to the Pacific Northwest, my senior volleyball season, 18th birthday, last homecoming, and a visit to Florida to see my boyfriend, I had so many amazing moments. While 2023 was a year rich in fun and good memories, it was also one of the most challenging years of my life. Giving my all in school, spending months on college applications, and navigating new friendships and a relationship was not easy, and I struggled with balance.

I look forward to 2024 as a year of renewal, a time to restore balance in my life and sort out my priorities. I am excited to spend more intentional time with my family and friends, practice yoga and mindfulness, and work on my photography business. 2024 will be a time of growth, change, and restoration, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for me.

Regarding Maddie's Moments, I hope that with the increase of balance in my life I will find making time to work on this business easier. Into 2024, I look to expand my skills as a photographer, exploring portrait photography and other techniques. It is my goal to post on this blog every Monday, starting today on the first of the year. I plan to post trip recaps, explanations of my portfolio contents, or week recaps. I am also looking to book some shoots to work on my skills and find places in my hometown to exercise my creativity. With that being said, I welcome any suggestions for blog posts or photography content that you want to see in the coming months as I work to improve this business.
